Heritage 1860s homestead.
The Cottage at Kurrajong is a local heritage listed homestead named 'Plynlimmon' built in the high Victorian era (1860) on the rolling foothills of the Blue Mountains just 2 kilometres from Kurrajong village and within 2 hours drive from most areas of Sydney.
Originally the homestead for a large dairy farm in the 1800's and a guesthouse for a period in the early 20th century, it has been for most of its life a farm cottage.
Lovingly restored and renovated, The Cottage at Kurrajong today offers self-contained accommodation for up to 2 couples in genteel Victorian ambience.
Situated on a ridge with views for miles over rolling hills and farmland, The Cottage is surrounded by verandahs which look out onto an acre of both formal and wild meadow gardens. The musical calls of bellbirds float in across the valley from dawn till dusk.
Glorious jacarandas, a giant Morton Bay fig and dozens of other exotic and native trees frame the views to farmland and mountains beyond, filling the gardens with charm and tranquility. Heritage roses greet your arrival from spring to summer and flowering bulbs are naturalised in the meadow lawns. Every season in the garden offers restful delights to the senses.

Inside the house are original polished kauri pine floors, tall ceilings and working fireplaces which are complemented by period soft furnishings and Persian rugs, with antique and reproduction Victorian furniture.
The Cottage has two large bedrooms, one with a romantic queen size half-tester and the other a charming queen size brass bed which face the cedar fireplaces.
Each bedroom also has electric blankets.
A charming bathroom fitted out in late Victorian style including a hip bath, shower, WC and a vanity finished in polished timber is shared with your friends. Heated towel racks and heating lights ensure year round comfort.
Bed linen and towels are provided for each guest.

Relax in the formal parlour on the sofa and chairs. Large windows offer panoramic views of the countryside and bring in the winter sunshine.
The large dining room is perfect for entertaining. This room is reverse-cycle air conditioned for all year round comfort, with a cosy slow combustion fire (wood supplied) framed by an original Cornish slate mantlepiece and decorations.
Alternatively enjoy the sun on the verandah and the views over the garden to the picturesque farmland beyond.
A TV, video, stereo radio, DVD, CD player, bookshelf and magazines are also provided for your entertainment and relaxation. .

Enjoy breakfast in the country kitchen where all modern conveniences are provided - electric stove and oven, microwave, toaster, refrigerator and dishwasher.
All crockery, cutlery and utensils are available.
Provisions are available at stores in the village just down the road, and local seasonal produce may be found at the many venues on the FarmGate Trail.
Enjoy a picnic in the gardens, or use the gas barbecue and outdoor setting on the deck. Many fine cafes and restaurants can also be found within a few minute's drive.
